Camp Education Society, was established in 1885 by few social workers from different walks of life. Among them prominently the late Shri. Rajanna Lingoo Polas, the late Shri. Balkrishna Sayanna Motado. The efforts of these leading men were solemnly blessed by the great social leader the late Mahatma Phule. The school was started with a sole motto, to provide education to children of masses. This was the time when only few English medium schools were providing education for the elite. Thus the seed was sown for evergreen tree of education, under the shade of which thousands of boys and girls received drops of nectar of good education and Camp Education Society emerged on the educational horizon of Pune.
We feel proud to announce that our beloved Camp Education Society is celebrating this year (2009-10) 125 years of its establishment from 1st Oct. 2009 till 30th Sept. 2010.
To mark this auspicious occasion various units of Society organizing various functions and giving true sense of justice to its motto – SERVICE AND SACRIFICE in the field of education in Pune city – Oxford of East, making costly education achievable to poor and dreams of Mahatma Phule fulfilled by its 33 Units. In this mission day and night work of Hon. Chairman Shri. Walchand D. Sancheti, Hon. Secretary Smt. Mohini A. Telang along with team of Managing Board of the Society play important role.
1980 - 2002 was a period during which the Camp Education Society bloomed and flourished under the skillful guidance of Late Dr. Arvind Telang. A past student of this very institution, he had a vision for future. Giving shapes to ideas, making dreams work was the commitment of this great man, haunted with education.
